Jacob “Jake” Bickelhaupt is a respected presence in the Chicago entrepreneurial sphere. He leads Stone Flower, a custom kitchen and dining space that places the chef in close proximity with a dozen guests. Jacob Bickelhaupt earned a pair of Michelin stars with his previous restaurant, and his creations are known for their creative use of ingredients and wines paired to evoke a specific time and place.

A Timeout review of Jake Bickelhaupt’s previous venture drew attention to the way in which he expertly moved diners between 15 courses, which ranged from a coffee and chicory pudding dessert to a salmon skin chicharron appetizer with a dusting of malt vinegar powder. The culinary concept was described as “higher-end dinner party,” and as one that offers guests opportunities for relaxed socializing over fine vintages.

Mr. Bickelhaupt has roots as an underground chef who operated the Sous Rising dinner series from his Chicago apartment. Recognized internationally, Mr. Bickelhaupt has achieved the “Best Up-and-Coming Chef” and “Best Kitchen Table” distinctions in Chicago Reader’s “Best of Chicago” issue.
